More about Mary,
What Separates Me From the Competition? "My passion for this work and creativity, selling approach, excellent products, the talented individuals I work with and the level of service we offer and that we are committed to giving each other and to the client."
My Selling Approach and Design Theory: "Competing in this business is what non-creative companies do. The rest of us just create exciting spaces that make sense and the selling takes care of itself based on three key factors: budget, layout and the level of aesthetic details the client desires.
My Personal Style: "Smart, creative design always wins with me regardless of style preference, but I do favor a minimalist approach that weeds out clutter and showcases the effects of light on the architecture that is found in contemporary design."
What Excites Me About Being Part of Spectacular Homes: "Being among such an elite group of designers in an artfully displayed body of work."

Mary is lucky enough to live and work along the shores of Lake Michigan. She attended Grand Rapids Kendall College of Art and Design and brings that artistic sensibility to everything she does. "Kendall is the Juilliard of Michigan," she insists. "It has definitely given me a creative edge"
Mary has been a practicing designer since 1994. She worked for 8 years for a variety of kitchen and bath design shops. She left to form her own business, Dwelling Concepts, in 2001. | "I enjoy being part of the overall design process, which is the reasons I founded Dwelling Concepts," she says. "I wanted to fill a need I saw time and time again...to fully service the client by helping them dream, plan, budget and develop their entire home including how rooms relate, controlled traffic flow, storage needs, furniture requirements, lighting necessities, funcional fabric selections brought together by a harmonious color scheme," she says. "Sound home design has to include the kitchen, but not just be about the kitchen. I believe it is truly a privilege to design someone's personal space where they love the people dearest to them and create lasting memories; therefore I can't just sell a kitchen or bath job and have peace with the service I offered." |
MARY'S Interior DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
"For me to design well, I must first listen intently to my client's needs, and create a solution to fill those needs".
